Hi dan, didn't know where to put this, but just wanted to say well done for doing your first podcast.
I think it sounded quite professional.

Oh, well thank you very much for listening and for your compliment! I'm going to do them monthly...we'll see how it goes. What did you think of the length? I thought 40 mins might have been too long...

I listened all the way through no problem. I think its a perfect amount of time. The only way a podcast is boring, is if its over 2 hours in length, lol.

Its also good to hear that you have similar good old "cheap and cheerful equipment" (my pc microphone was bought around 2001) It works fine, it doesn't pick up much bass though.

Hopefully more people will listen and download the podcasts. Is there any way to tell? (perhaps you could put a web page "hit counter" to see how many visits they get?).

Yes there is a way to tell. I use Google Analytics. I'm the only one that can see the stats though; there's nothing to publish on the page. Does that make a difference to you?

It doesn't make any difference to me, i was asking because basically i wanted you to find out if you were getting some sort of audience for these podcasts, and if the numbers are low (i think this may be the case due to the amount of people using the forums), dont let it bother you. I think the podcasts are decent additional content for the site, and its worth keeping it going for at least a few more months.

Right, yes that is what I figured as well. I don't take the current traffic levels personally; I am still discovering methods for attracting traffic and am fully confident that plenty of traffic will come once the right channels have been accessed. Thanks for your feedback though - it is very helpful.
